New Social Security bonuses for personnel hiring.

On 1 September, Royal Decree-Law 1/2023 came into force, significantly changing the hiring system regarding Social Security bonuses and incentives.
To access the bonuses, companies must meet the following requirements:
  • To implement an equality plan in the company when companies are obliged to do so.
  • To be eligible for these bonuses/reductions, companies must not have made unfair dismissals the year before hiring.
  • Employment must be maintained for at least three years.
  • The amount to be subsidized has changed. Until now, they were percentages of the social security contribution or item; now, they are exact monetary amounts.
  • Substitution contracts in case of benefit, rest, birth of children, or risk during pregnancy, which used to be a 100% bonus of the company contribution when hiring an unemployed substitute, now becomes a bonus of three hundred and sixty euros for the replacement and another three hundred and sixty euros for the person being substituted.
The following table shows the new Social Security hiring system rebates that can be applied for as of 1 September.
