In the first days of April, numerous updates to collective bargaining agreements have been published at both sectoral and regional levels, directly impacting labour costs and regulatory compliance in Spain.
These measures include salary revisions, new agreements and technical corrections affecting companies across different sectors.
In the following alert, we outline these new developments.
2026 salary tables
Most of the updates focus on the revision of salary tables for 2026, affecting different sectors and regions. The most representative cases include:
- In the poultry farming sector, a 2.5% salary increase has been approved based on the 2025 tables.
- In the cleaning sector in the Basque Country (services linked to Osakidetza and educational centres), salary tables have been updated with a 1.5% increase, effective from 1 January 2026.
- In construction (Las Palmas), a 3% increase has been established for 2026.
These revisions confirm that collective agreements are being gradually adjusted to address the impact of rising labour costs.
Extensions and automatic updates of conditions
In other cases, collective agreements are not fully renewed but extended, incorporating automatic update mechanisms.
One example is the yarns, ropes and nets sector in Alicante, where an extension has been agreed with a 2.9% increase linked to CPI.
These types of clauses remain highly relevant in many agreements, requiring companies to continuously monitor their application.
New agreements and full revisions
Alongside salary updates, new collective agreements and fully revised texts have also been published in certain sectors.
These changes go beyond salary adjustments and may involve modifications to working conditions, compensation structures or working hours.
For example, in Murcia, a new collective agreement has been published in the food and dietary products manufacturing sector, establishing a comprehensive framework for the coming years.
Technical adjustments and corrections: impact on payroll
Some updates correspond to error corrections or technical adjustments in agreements already in force.
Although these may appear minor, they can have a direct impact on the application of labour measures, for example:
- Correction of previously published salary tables, such as in the road transport sector in Álava, which may require payroll recalculations if incorrect amounts were applied.
- Updates with retroactive effect, as seen in several agreements, requiring back pay adjustments for employees, such as in the cleaning sector in the Basque Country.
- Adjustments to compensation concepts, which may modify how certain bonuses or supplements are applied.

An environment that requires continuous monitoring
These updates clearly show that collective bargaining agreements are under constant review and adaptation.
The risk lies not only in missing an update, but in applying conditions that are no longer in force, which may lead to labour disputes or financial contingencies.
From LEIALTA’s labour department, we support companies in reviewing and applying collective agreements, ensuring regulatory compliance and proper management of labour costs.
